The Shanghai Government Scholarship is of two types:
Type A (Full Scholarship)

Step 1: Applicants should register and apply online through the online portal.
Step 2: Submit an online application and download the application form.
Step 3: Applicants should register and apply online through the selected university website (a list of universities is given above). Submit the online application and pay the application fee (if applicable).
Step 4: After submitting the online application, download and print out the application form. Mail two sets of hard copies of application documents (1set of originals and 1 set of photocopies) to the university where you have applied.
Step 5: General Documents Required:
- Application Form
- Academic transcripts (notarised photocopy): Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarised translations into Chinese or English.
- Highest diploma (notarised photocopy):
- A photocopy of a health certificate and blood test. Bring your original documents when entering China.
- A photocopy of the passport, including all Chinese visa pages.
- Certificates of award from your high school (not mandatory).
- Applicants under 18 must provide a guardian’s letter of guarantee.
